Shake Things Up with Ginuary
A decade ago, summer days were constrained, locked to Chardonnays and mass-production beers. Today, Australians laze by the pool over glasses of craft spirits, microbrew creations, and gin, with sales of the versatile bevvy climbing over 30% in the past five years alone.
Enter Ginuary, a summer celebration of our most on-trend spirit. As gin sales rise across the country, more Australians are enjoying crafty concoctions, infused G&Ts, and experiential tasting nights.
Move aside, Dry January: this year, West End’s Covent Garden has another idea. Let the long weekend be gin.
This January 25, spend an evening in Covent Garden’s airy courtyard for Ginuary, a celebration of Archie Rose Signature Dry Gin cocktails and canapés set to launch guests into the long weekend.
The ticketed event will beckon guests through the door for just $39pp, including a cocktail on arrival. As you step into the breezy garden bar, you’ll indulge in Covent Garden’s signature French 75 cocktail – a mix of Archie Rose Signature Dry Gin, lemon juice, gomme syrup, and champagne – taking a seat as tantalizing fare roams the space.
Guests will enjoy two hours of canapés, crafted to pair perfectly with the evening’s cocktails available for purchase. Among the fare will be juniper-smoked salmon, manchego profiteroles, and pork dumplings with black vinegar.
Up at the bar, you’ll have the chance to explore another two concoctions, with bartenders shaking up the Crime of Passion, made with Archie Rose Signature Dry Gin, lime, lemon, fresh passionfruit, sugar, and Crème de Mure, and the Modena Martini. The contemporary martini plays on gin’s adaptability, mixing Archie Rose Signature Dry Gin, lime, sugar, a balsamic reduction, muddled strawberry, and basil.
