Ready to unleash your best dance moves and groove to some killer music on April 30? Lucky for you, everyone’s favourite, free, inner-city event, Stones Corner Festival is back for its eighth instalment! So while you get out your glittered get-ups, let us tell you a bit more about who’s set to entertain the crowds on the day…
First-time Stones Corner Festival players and the headline act for 2023 is Art vs Science. The Australian trio, made up of Dan Mac, Dan W and Jim Finn, are known for their raucous and outstanding live shows. Expect to hear their fan-favourites including Flippers, Magic Fountain and Parlez Vous Francais as well as their latest high calibre single ‘Sweat’ which was produced and mixed by The Presets’ Kim Moyes.
Following suit will be Resin Dogs who are known for their production of epic mashed-up sounds featuring truly modern hip hop drenched with breakbeat, dancehall, dub, funk and soul! We are excited to be welcoming them to Stones Corner Festival for the first time in big band form with the addition of back-up singers (The Sativa Divas) and are sure to bring the house down.
Listening up for the best hits of the 70’s and 80’s? You won’t want to miss the Yacht Rock Revival as they play songs from song-writing legends such as Toto, Hall & Oates, The Doobie Brothers, Boz Scaggs, Steely Dan, Christopher Cross, Captain & Tennille, Jackson Brown, Billy Ocean And So Much More.
Head down and say howdy to the Country alt-Rock group that has continuously slayed across Australia’s country music scene, Good Will Remedy. Having toured with Aussie icons such as Joe Camilleri and The Black Sorrows, their charming and satisfyingly triumphant tunes are sure to impress.
Whilst she may be fresh to the Australian music scene, indie-pop artist Jem Cassar-Daley needs little to no introduction. As well as being the daughter of the legendary Troy Cassar-Daley, Jem’s captivating performances and song-writing skills have also earned her the Indigenous Award at the 2022 Queensland Music Awards along with the New Talent of the year at the 2022 NIMA’s, impressive Spotify and Apple editorial playlist support along with nationwide press, including being named as the star to watch in 2023 in the Sunday Mail.
DUSTY might be a new name in music but the female lead indie rock band is already showing signs of big things to come, having already had national recognition with plays on both Triple J and Triple J Unearthed. Make sure you see this new talent for yourself because they are sure to move you (physically and emotionally).
Andy Martin is a singer-songwriter from Cairns that transcends genres, effortlessly blending rock, pop, folk, and indie influences in his songwriting. Now residing in Brisbane, the 25-year-old has made a mark not only in Australia, but across the globe. We’re lucky to have him and a live band as part of our 2023 lineup coming fresh off the back of multiple sold-out QLD headline shows and major support slots including Alex Lahey and Shannen James.
One of our most loved Stones Corner acts, John Hanley is a local husband and father living with MND. Showcasing the voice that continues to withstand his terminal illness and together with his bandmates, The Hurricanes, this act is not one to miss.
Stones Corner Festival is all about rallying together for a good time but also for a good cause, with the roots of the festival still revolving around raising money for MND and Me Foundation. Funds collected on the day are distributed to Queenslanders living with Motor Neurone Disease, like John, and to support ongoing research so gold coin donations are encouraged.
Be sure to mark this one in your calendars. With free entry, Stones Corner Festival is set to be the ultimate outing on April 30!
