Nestled before the striking backdrop of Brisbane’s waterfront, Customs House offers an iconic event space for social calendars across the city. From shimmering cocktail nights before the Story Bridge to black tie dinners in the ballroom, Customs House does more than beckon routine birthday dinners through its doors – it aims to inspire.

This October 11th, forty of Brisbane’s most influential made their way up the red carpet for Inspire, the debut of this season’s tantalising event fare. Here, at tables poised on the balcony, guests explored dishes set to transform Brisbane’s spring and summer events.

Hand-in-hand with the talented teams of bespoke styling company Celebrating in Style and floral designer Bouquet Boutique, exquisite flavours aren’t the only thing on the menu.

‘As well as introduce our new event menu, we wanted to challenge the boundaries and create inspiration for events at Customs House. From its stunning location to the styling on offer, there’s no better or more unique space for transforming your next event,’ said Director Brian Roberts.

Bouquet Boutique Creative Director, Geraldine Hore, offers event planners over a decade of experience in the florist industry, melding her designs to the exclusive style and theme of each event.

Alongside Geraldine’s spectacular arrangements, the team at Celebrating in Style have lent their prowess to countless Customs House events. Director Athena Amarandos leads a team of outstanding professionals, transforming ballrooms into enchanted gardens, and Customs House’s Inspire into a night to remember.

As the evening began, diners were met with a glittering champagne tower of Louis Roederer Brut Premier, mingling to chatter over canapés of confit duck and butternut pumpkin tarts, crostini topped in ricotta and aromatic truffle honey, and miso roasted scallops.

These new creations are the makings of Customs House Executive Chef, John Offenhauser – and the playful flavours didn’t stop there, with staff unveiling plates of grilled quail, pancetta, pinenut and farro salad, expertly chargrilled lamb loin, and sweet spanner crab dressed in finger limes and pomelo.

A snapshot of Brisbane’s approaching holiday season, the night offered glimpses into joy-filled Christmas dinners, summer lunches in the open air, and corporate celebrations designed to inspire.

The best part? There’s no ‘too big’ or ‘too small’ for this award-winning space: from personal styling to an enthusiastic events team, a group of three is made as welcome as three hundred.

With Chef Offenhauser at the helm and the magic touch of Customs House regulars Celebrating in Style and Bouquet Boutique, the heritage-listed venue finds itself armed with exquisite class – and a luxurious new menu.
