King St is hosting another one of their legendary street parties under the stars on Saturday, August 24! From 3pm to 9:30pm, the precinct will be transformed into a vibrant hub of music, dance, and culture, featuring street food stalls, pop-up bars, a silent disco, live art installations, and market stalls showcasing unique creations from local Indigenous retailers. This free, all-ages event—presented in collaboration with The Tivoli as part of their Open Season program and Blak Social — celebrates First Nations excellence with performances from some of Australia’s most acclaimed Indigenous artists, including ARIA-nominated Emma Donovan. The event promises an exhilarating evening filled with community spirit, artistic brilliance, and cultural celebration, as it marks the grand finale of Open Season.

Headlining the event is the spectacular Emma Donovan, an award-winning Indigenous singer-songwriter celebrated for her soulful voice and captivating storytelling. With decades of experience illuminating stages across Australia and collaborating with some of the music industry’s brightest stars, Emma is set to shine on the King St stage, blending her powerful vocals with enchanting narratives that will truly make the night one to remember.

Emma will be joined by a stellar lineup of performers including the newly formed First Nations hip-hop collective 3%, Sue Ray, BADASSMUTHA, and The Ancient Bloods. This diverse array of artists promises a range of cosmic beats, smoky vocals, eclectic performances, and smooth coastal melodies.

No King St celebration is complete without exceptional food, and Last Night: Blak Day Out will deliver just that. After hitting the dance floor, treat yourself to a range of delectable market bites at the pop-up stalls from some of King St’s top eateries. Savour a variety of scrumptious offerings from Xin Chao, Claw BBQ, Fat Dumpling, and Bar Gusto each bringing their unique flavours to ensure you stay satisfied throughout the festivities.

If you’re ready to dive into more, we’ve got an exciting array of entertainment that will keep the energy high and the fun flowing. Step into our silent disco zone, and lose yourself under a pair of headphones in the dynamic beats of DJ Kritty. Her eclectic and energetic sets are sure to keep the dance floor lively throughout the night. Stop by our vibrant market stalls, where you can discover unique creations from talented local Indigenous artists. Explore offerings from First Nations Fashionista and Murri Girl Designs for stylish accessories, or Bomsy Studio’s and Desirai’s striking artwork. Enjoy a leisurely stroll through these stalls and take home a piece of the magic from the night. And lastly, don’t miss the chance to witness local artist Sam Harrison crafting a live mural as the evening unfolds. His artwork will be a captivating highlight, leaving a lasting impression on the King St precinct long after the event concludes.
