Step off the streets of Brisbane and onto the cobbled pathways of Paris as Brisbane’s acclaimed Montrachet returns with a flourish. After ending a sensational 11-year stint in Paddington, the hatted French restaurant has raised the curtain on its new Bowen Hills space.

Just a hop, skip and a jump from the Brisbane Showgrounds, the bustling King Street plays host to Montrachet number deux – an expanded space with more to offer than ever before.

Alongside a sprawling dining room and in-house wine cellar, the new Montrachet will boast its very own boulangerie, baking daily.

Set to launch to the public on Saturday 16 December, Montrachet’s boulangerie will treat diners to their very own taste of provincial France, emulating the vibrant fresh food markets weaving through the country streets.

As diners make their way through the village-style entryway, freshly baked baguettes and artisan pastries will line the countertops, ready to be packed into paper bags and carted home.

Brisbane’s very own corner of France will launch under the masterful hand of Patrick Delbar, an iconic Lyonnaise baker. Known around the world for his award-winning skills, the third generation baker is leaving France for the first time to share his expertise with the Montrachet team.

Patrick will be assisting Montrachet’s Tara Bain, a long-standing member of the Montrachet crew. After baking at the Paddington venue for 8 years, Tara is completing her final training before assuming command of the new boulangerie.

Authentic French techniques will pair with only the finest ingredients. For its boulangerie, Montrachet will import world-class flour from Grands Moulins de Paris Muille, France’s oldest mill. Chocolate will be sourced from one of the world’s most revered chocolatiers, Michel Cluizel.

Diners can expect to discover the boulangerie’s hand-crafted croissants, sourdough loaves, and moreish eclairs from this Saturday. Opening hours are Tuesday to Friday 6.30am – 2.30pm, and Saturdays from 6.30am – midday.
