Proud Mary is rollin’ on the Brisbane River, taking over WATT Bar & Restaurant’s space at Brisbane Powerhouse from Friday, November 2.

The new Proud Mary, helmed by an all-female hospo superstar team, is set to reinvigorate the Powerhouse’s all-day dining scene, with quirky Southern-inspired soul food, proudly Brissie-brewed beers, and an innovative cocktail list with Bloody Marys taking centre stage.

Celebrating the best of local produce, highlighting the punchy flavours and French in influence of America’s south, the menu is designed for sharing with friends over a long, lazy brunch and right through to dinner. Nestled in Powerhouse Brisbane, Proud Mary has all the ingredients to provide the perfect pre-show nibble or post-show dinner to keep the good times owing.

Get the crew together for some delicious river-inspired dishes like Louisiana oyster po’ boys, griddled crab cakes, buckets of prawns, and crispy squid. Connect over sharing platters of delicate seafood, buckets of fried chicken with muffins, and build-your-own beef brisket tortillas. Try something different with the Tuna Iceburger or French dip pork belly sandwich with cheese curds and gravy-laden poutine on the side, and polish it all o with decadent beignets doused in icing sugar.

The brunch menu is in turns fresh, healthy, and French in flavour. From delicate cucumber coconut chia puddings to classic croque madames and the chef’s signature goat cheese tartine burger, Proud Mary will be dishing up breakfast classics in cruisy French style.

The Queen Mary Long Brunch will be the perfect way to kick o weekends, running every Saturday from 10am to 2pm. Settle in for a five-course shared brunch of chia fruit cups, gin and beetroot cured salmon, DIY breakfast tacos, roasted summer fruits, and (of course) Bloody Marys! Make a day of it and add bottomless Bloody Marys for $30, or bottomless bubbles for $35, and settle in for the live music bringing the venue to life every weekend.

Sip on a range of riffs on classic Bloody Marys, like the Veni Vidi Vici! – a twist on the famous Canadian favourite, the Bloody Caesar featuring river flavours with clamato (clam and tomato) juice, Secret Proud Mary mix, and topped with a Sydney rock oyster! Another must-try is the clear, martini style Where You At Mary?, with tropical juices, and the Hippity Hoppin’ Mary featuring carrot juice, agave, and hot sauce! The entire Bloody Mary menu is available in single serves, or as jugs to get the good times rolling.

Celebrate Proud Mary’s opening in true New Orleans style, with $12 Bloody Marys all weekend from opening on Friday, November 2 through to Sunday, November 4. Proud Mary will be putting on good times for Melbourne Cup, Christmas Day, and New Year’s Day, and is available to hire for events of all sizes.
