From the powerhouse hospitality team who brought us Il Verde in Bowen Hills and Il Vento in Mooloolaba comes Il Gancio! Now open at the highly anticipated UPSTAIRS Toombul dining playground, Il Gancio delivers on the classic Italian fare patrons have come to associate with this brand.
The industrial-chic feel of Il Gancio has been carefully considered to ensure every dining experience is memorable. The gorgeous open-plan design and high ceilings, complete with a skylight, brightens the space, which is finished with custom booth furniture, a stunning copper pizza oven and two bars.
Whilst one bar will be utilised to serve thirsty customers, the second will be available for private cooking classes and to indulge in one of the great promotions which will be coming from December.
A quintessential element of any great Italian restaurant is a mouth-watering pizza menu, and Il Gancio has installed a beautiful copper pizza oven, with glass viewing window, to ensure authenticity. A stacked menu offers both rosso and bianco bases, with tough choices between classics like the margherita to the more adventurous beetroot and sausage with goats cheese and roquette.
A tasty antipasti menu with the likes of salt and pepper calamari with pesto aioli and scallops with crispy pancetta, herbed butter and flying fish roe leads into a refined pasta and risotto menu.
The seafood linguine is a beautifully refreshing dish, perfect for the warmer months ahead, or the mushroom and truffle pappardelle is a chance to sample the simple quality Italian food is renowned for. A selection of secondi will see guests feast on pork cutlets, chicken Parmigiana and beef scallopini to name a few.
Making sure your night ends sweetly, indulge in a selection of classic desserts including panna cotta and cannoli with hazelnut and chocolate ricotta, dark chocolate and Frangelico sauce.
Il Gancio has stayed true to their Italian roots when it comes to the wine list but have also incorporated some unique local blends. Diners can enjoy everything from chardonnay from the Margaret River to hearty Chiantis, or indulge in one of the many cocktails like a classic Bellini or Aperol spritz.
Starting in December, Il Gancio will also be featuring exciting deals throughout the week to make sure you have a great excuse to come back again and again. On Wednesdays, enjoy a hump day treat with cheese wheel pasta served at the bar, for $35 per person. This tasty offer not only includes a dish of cheese wheel pasta, but also a croquette and one house beer or wine. Then, to help you unwind after a busy week, enjoy $1 oysters and $7 glass of prosecco at the bar every Friday.
