BRISBANE ICE CREAM FESTIVAL is back and cooler than ever, with a series of inspired new events set to elevate the third instalment of the sell-out celebration of all things cold, creamy, and coned!

This year, Brisbane Ice Cream Festival will expand to be a two-day event, with three sessions on Saturday, March 23 and Sunday, March 24. As always, entry to the festival is free and will run in timed sessions to ensure everyone can get a scoop of the action.

For entry, you will need to register for tickets for a session over the weekend. Doors will open for three separate, timed sessions each day from 11am–1pm, 1pm–3pm and 3pm–5pm.

Tickets will be made available for registration from the Brisbane Ice Cream Festival website on Friday 1 March at 9am.

2019 also sees the festival expand with two unique evening events! On Friday night an UP LATE session will feature boozy ice cream creations
and cocktails, while Saturday night will see a CHEF’S PLAYGROUND (when four of Brisbane’s best-known chef’s will dish up ice cream-inspired delights) take over The Bromley Room #2!

Tickets for these events will be on sale from the Brisbane Ice Cream Festival website on Friday 1 March at 9 am.

As the sprinkles on top, Brisbane Ice Cream Festival accommodates dairy-free, gluten-free, nut-free and vegan dietary requirements—as ice cream should be enjoyed by all!

Up Late

You’re going to need ID for this one—a
boozy extravaganza bringing together the childhood pleasure of ice cream with the grown-up glee of something a little stronger!
On Friday, March 22, head to West End’s The Deck WV for an exploration of delicious cocktails and ice cream treats.

Scoop into two hours of sweet and savoury
(let’s be real, mostly sweet) ice cream canapés served alongside two dessert cocktails for a very appetising $49. Think choices of sorbet mojitos, espresso martini’s with ice cream, and other refreshing delights.

With a DJ spinning tunes finer than fairy floss, Brisbane Ice Cream Festival – Up Late is Friday drinks with a candy-coated twist.

Brisbane Ice Cream Festival

Brisbane Ice Cream Festival will make us all scream ice cream in 2019! Now in its third year, the event has expanded to boast six two-hour sessions over two days to ensure everyone gets a taste of the action. As always, admission is free (but registration is required) so you have more biscuits to splash on the sweeter things in life, and with seventeen vendors, you’re going to want to be strategic!

While there’ll be buckets of classic flavours to go around, Ice Cream Festival is the perfect melting pot to try inspired creations like Frozen Sunshine’s guacamole and corn chips iceblock, a pavlova special from Ice Cream Curls, and gelato-filled cannoli from La Macellaria!

Celebrating all things ice cream, each of the seventeen vendors will be offering a new creation exclusive to Brisbane Ice Cream Festival! If you need a savoury break, the Garden Pantry’s three venues (Mr Bunz, Cheeky Poké, and Salt Meats Cheese)
will be dishing up menu favourites alongside an Ice Cream Festival sweet special.

Chefs Playground

Join us as we elevate Brisbane Ice Cream Festival with a new event for 2019, Chef’s Playground!
Held on the former site of Brisbane’s iconic Peters Ice Cream factory, Chef’s Playground will bring together four well-known local chef’s and challenge them to serve two dishes that hero all things savoury and sweet.

With the culinary skill and styles of Philip Johnson (e’cco Bistro), Ben Williamson (formerly Gerard’s Bistro), Paul McGivern (La Lune Wine Co and formerly The Wolfe), and Dominique Rizzo (Putia Pure Food Kitchen), Chef’s Playground will churn out some unexpected combinations and stunning takes on the dessert that just loves to be experimented with!

Hosted in West Village’s stunning functions space, The Bromley Room #2, guests to Chef’s Playground will be treated to eight unique and innovative dishes, alongside a few glasses of wine, making the evening a grown-up salute to the beloved dessert. Tickets to Chef’s Playground are $99 and extremely limited—don’t miss the ice cream truck as it passes!
