Long-term Liquidity client West Village was recently awarded in the national arena by the Urban Development Institute of Australia‘s annual awards, taking home the award for Marketing Excellence, as well as the President’s Award.

The expansive gardens, innovative design, and unique spaces of West Village always provide us with plenty of inspiration as their chosen events and activations partner when working on event planning and delivery, design, and public relations, and we’re so pleased to see West Village’s ongoing activities rewarded.

In explaining their decisions, the UDIA judges said the “creation of local festivals, community market days, and children’s activity areas ensured early awareness of the brand and assisted in an ongoing database of potential purchasers.”

Having worked on a number of the activations and marketing campaigns directly mentioned in the judging decision, we thought we’d look back at some of our favourite West Village projects—we can’t wait to add to this list in future!

Brisbane Ice Cream Festival

A knockout success over several years, Brisbane Ice Cream Festival sees West Village’s laneways and public spaces activated with an ice cream wonderland! Planned and delivered by Liquidity in several formats over the years, the last iteration of BICF included two additional events, UpLate and Chefs Playground, tying in to the site’s history as an ice cream factory.

Champagne Garden

We hosted West Village’s first Champagne Garden event earlier in 2020, and it’s safe to say it was the first of many! This chic event saw a tiered ticketing option with a premium tasting package and general admission high tea hosting guests for a classy afternoon of sipping and snacking among West Village’s lush laneways.

School holiday activities

To engage and bring in the surrounding community, West Village asked us to activate their green spaces with a series of school holidays activities. Children were treated to a range of unique, engaging events like bubble sessions, lantern-making, street science, and even silent-disco-style yoga!

Fromage Laneway

A signature event to bring a bit of France to West Village for Bastille Day, Fromage was a refined occasion centred around all things delicious! Guests enjoyed stunning cheese and crepe stations, plenty of bubbles, and live entertainment.
