Back by popular demand, winter is coming to Customs House’s iconic terrace as it transforms into a chic alpine escape with their Veuve Clicquot Winter Chalet. From Tuesday, May 13, the terrace will don its luxe igloos (and metaphorical skis), serving up a trio of signature dining experiences — best enjoyed with a glass (or two) of Veuve Clicquot in hand.

Expect unbeatable views of the Brisbane River and Story Bridge, Alpine-themed igloos flown in direct from Europe, an abundance of champagne from the house of Veuve Clicquot, and a seasonal menu designed to make you feel like you’ve just come off the slopes — minus the frostbite!

Clicquot Chalet Bar

Once wrapped up in a faux-fur blanket, guests can settle in and sip their way through the afternoon with a glass (or bottle) of Veuve Clicquot. The drinks menu will also feature Australian, New Zealand and French wines alongside winter-worthy cocktails like ‘Clicquot Sidecar’ with Hennessy VS, Grand Marnier and lemon, topped off with Veuve Clicquot.

Feast on an exclusive snacks and nibbles menu, including the famed Customs House pop-up bar classic: the Moreton Bay bug croissant with lime and dill mayo. Abrolhos Island scallops, jamon croquettes, burrata arancini, and Yarra Valley baked whole brie also feature alongside a variety of English, Italian and Australian cheeses that’ll have you carving out room for seconds.

While walk-ins are welcome at Veuve Clicquot Winter Chalet, individual igloos can also be exclusively booked for a luxe winter experience, with clear sweeping views all from inside the domes. Starting at $75 per person, with a minimum booking of four required and parties snow-capped at ten, this package will include a glass of Veuve Clicquot, Moreton Bay bug croissant, jamon croquettes, foie gras parfait, baked brie, and finished off with sfogliatelle, an Italian pastry with creamy custard.

Dining in the Domes

Hit the (culinary) slopes with Dining in the Domes at the Clicquot Chalet — start with a glass of Veuve Clicquot, followed by a multi-course winter feast designed for après-ski indulgence. Featuring wood-smoked buffalo mozzarella, Abrolhos Island scallops with custard apple and yuzu, 2GR Full Blood Wagyu flank steak, hand-rolled gnocchi, all topped off with a caramelised pear and almond tarte tatin, it’s available Tuesday to Thursday for $160 per person for parties of two to six people.

Clicquot Chalet Winter High Tea

In true Customs House fashion, their enchanting Clicquot Chalet Winter High Tea is back with a fresh selection of the finest finger foods you can get your mittens on, with a selection of savoury canapes, freshly baked scones and an array of petit fours, whilst sipping on a glass of Veuve Clicquot and steaming French tea or coffee – available Tuesday to Thursday, for $105 per person for parties of two to six people.

For irresistible bites, premium champagne and Brisbane’s best views, head to Veuve Clicquot Winter Chalet at Customs House on Tuesdays to Sundays from May 13. Igloos can be booked via the Customs House website from May 1.
