You may associate blogging with backpackers taking a gap year or fashion fanatics spending their entire paychecks on new outfits to Instagram, but to us, blogging is a tool for marketing in Brisbane (and the rest of Australia), particularly when you’re trying to nail a wicked brand voice and personality. Marketing in Brisbane can be tricky, but we have just four simple steps to help you perfect your branding through blogging.
Brush up on your story weaving, we’re about to get creative.
Step 1 – Brand Personality
Branding is all about having a style and personality. You don’t want to create a personality that mirrors your crazy aunt with ten different personalities and only one of which you like. You want one strong personality that has oodles of charisma to stand out amongst the rest. You need to suss out what your brand’s personality is. Is it nurturing? Cheeky? Traditional and authentic? Write out a list of things that spring to mind and what you’d like to be known for, and start finding some common links.
Step 2 – Story Telling for Content Marketing
Now that you have your key themes, start building a story, a character or a place. Maybe you’re a cool Brooklyn-inspired café too indie for regular lattes. If so, talk up your Brooklyn roots and indie loves. Maybe you have a hip exposed brick interior. you only play bands that have never had radio air time. If so, work a little of those details into every blog.
Step 3 – Stand out from the crowd!
You need to blog about things that make you stand out in the sea of digital noise that you ‘re probably sinking in. There are plenty of blogs to get bogged down in, so what are you going to do to make yours sing louder and prouder than all the rest? Whatever you do, make sure you keep in line with your new-found personality too i.e. “three hotdog relishes that you probably haven’t heard of yet” (or click here for more tips on how to write an effective headline).
Step 4 – keep it consistent
Our number one tip with branding is keep it consistent. Don’t write one blog that’s cheeky and cute and another that’s educational and formal. Your customer will be more confused than a pre-schooler caught up in a high school maths exam. Keep going back to those themes you originally came up with to remind you of your branding intentions.
