Hidden down an alleyway in the heart of Fortitude Valley lies your new spot for sipping and sharing – Italia Lane! Brought to you from the minds behind Tenneriffe’s favourite gastropub, Dalgety 2.0 Public House, this new eatery will serve early morning commuters, after-work tipplers and weekend feasters.
Italia Lane is all about traditional Italian food with a twist, focussing first and foremost on a menu of pizza, pasta and charcuterie.
As co-owner James Griffiths said, “the menu will have a point of difference” to the throng of Italian restaurants nearby and instead feature a quirky factor. With their origins stemming from the Amalfi Coast and greater Italy, the pair want to emulate the approachable yet bustling vibe of a street café in Italia.
The newly renovated space will host three different zones: a dedicated business area for local corporates looking to nibble during meetings;, a large restaurant space; and a colourful outdoor laneway space decorated with festoon lights where DJs and acoustic music will play on Friday night and weekends. But the entire venue can also be booked for private functions, parties and even weddings, hosting groups up to 200.

The food and beverage lineup is set to include breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between with a focus on share plates. But with both the huge pizza oven and the head chef hailing from Italy, it’s the wood-fired fare that is set to steal the show. Not only will the menu include 8 pizza varieties, there will also be a large selection of pastries and breads fired up for early risers on their way to work or those looking for a sweet treat after lunch or dinner.

Other menu highlights include a variety of charcuterie (set to be freshly sliced in venue); rigatoni with guanciale, egg, pecorino and pepper; beet cured salmon with grape chutney and gin caviar; and of course their house tiramisu! Italia Lane will also offer a variety of dairy free, vegetarian and vegan options, something Nonna may scoff at, but times have changed.

Pair your meal with a selection from the extensive wine and cocktail menu that caters to Brisbane’s tastes with a dedicated spritz section. Gather your friends and share the carafes of zesty aperol or limoncello spritz or opt for a classic bellini as you listen to live music in the laneway.
Be sure to head over to Fortitude Valley and say ciao because Italia Lane opens today!
