The world’s oldest champagne house is coming to Brisbane, popping bottles at one of Brisbane’s most iconic locations: Customs House‘s exclusive terrace overlooking the river.

Landing on Saturday, March 28 and open Thursday-Saturday weekly from 4 pm, the pop-up takes its name from the house’s signature “R” de Ruinart, a fresh, fruity and chardonnay-heavy expression of classic champagne that can be enjoyed by the glass or bottle at the pop-up bar. Other pleasures from la maison include the blanc de blanc and rosé, both of which are equally as iconic as Ruinart’s distinct bottle. A selection of Australian wine and beer and French rosé will also be available.

A globally-inspired menu has been devised to showcase Ruinart champagne’s versatility in pairing, with confit duck croquettes, seared tuna with edamame and dashi cream, and Customs House’s beloved Moreton Bay bug croissant with prosciutto and lime mayonnaise.

It wouldn’t be a French affair without cheese, so guests can select from four options including a Paysan Breton French brie and NSW-sourced Charlton’s Choice blue served with house-made lavosh and warm walnut bread to accompany their bubbles.

In alignment with Ruinart’s commitment to supporting contemporary art globally, including their involvement with iconic international art fair Art Basel, sketching and watercolour painting experiences will also be scheduled during the pop-up—champagne in one hand, paintbrush in the other? C’est chic!

The Art de Ruinart will be popping up at Customs House until the end of April—don’t miss out on this inner-city escape to Champagne!
