Valley Fiesta has revealed its party-packed plans for 2022 showcasing the best of Brisbane’s music and arts scene. Extending the program in celebration of its 25th anniversary, King Street is thrilled to be hosting the opening night party.

Gather, feast, groove and enjoy the King Street Food Fiesta⸺a string of pop-up bars, two live music stages, two world-renowned new art installations, street food stalls and roving entertainment that promises to deliver amazing flavours, sweet sounds, and all round good vibes from 4 pm to 9 pm on Friday, November 25.

Foodie retailers from the well-known King Street dining strip will pop out to serve up street food-inspired tasting plates from $6. Take your tastebuds on tour to the Amalfi Coast with Il Verde’s spritz pop-up bar, to Vietnam with Xin Chao’s bao buns, to America with Supercombo’s chicken wings or Kuhl-Cher’s southern-fried vegan chicken and coleslaw, to China with Fat Dumplings steamed pork dim sum, and to Rome with La Macelleria’s authentic gelato and much more!

Queensland’s most awarded French restaurant Montrachet, will lead the charge and showcase the best of French gastronomy with a Duck and Pinot pop-up bar. Indulge in duck and cognac parfait, duck pithivier (duck and pinot ragout baked in puff pastry) as well as Montrachet’s famous brioche rolls with pulled confit duck leg.

Welcome to Bowen Hills and Rydges’ Six Acre Restaurant will also be offering pop-up bars paired with delicious nibbles such as beef sliders and crunchy parmigiano cheese and truffle oil fries. No matter what you’re craving, you can rest assured there will be something to tickle your tastebuds.

Alongside the enticing eats, the street will come alive when 7 of Brisbane’s best emerging artists perform live. Headlining the Food Fiesta is indie-pop artist Jem Cassar-Daley at 8 pm, following on from queer alt-rock band Platonic Sex at 7 pm, guitar-pop project Flamingo Blonde at 6 pm, sibling duo People Mover at 5 pm with an official smoking ceremony and Welcome to Country set to take place at 4.15 pm.

Popping-up on a secondary stage are soulful outlaw country singer Pete Cullen, indie-rock, singer-songwriter and solo traveller ELEEA, and country and blues artist Danny Widdicombe.

King St is also thrilled to introduce two brand new art installations just in time for the Food Fiesta from two world-renowned artists Jeremyville and Elliot Routledge. The first titled ‘Community Service Announcements’ by Jeremyville aims to explore concepts such as self empowerment, personal growth, human virtue, love, loss and what it means to be human through simple imagery and words.

The second titled ‘Past is Present’ by Routledge is inspired by the four pillars of the Brisbane Showgrounds in a unique, contemporary abstract style. Make sure a stop at both of these installations is on your fiesta itinerary as they are sure to be the most instagrammable moments!

Be sure to feed your soul and feel the flavours of the Valley at the King St Food Fiesta.
