Oh how we have missed Riverbar + Kitchen: the perfectly-placed eatery that serves up food and drink that’s just as good as the view from the tables. After a long eight-months of rebuilding, refurbishing and reinvigorating all of its offerings, the team behind the popular riverside spot could not be more thrilled to swing its doors open to the public once again!

“To rebuild from a completely blank canvas has been amazing – it’s a great refresh, a reinvigoration of what it used to be with a newer design, new branding and an elevated concept,” says co-owner Matt Moran.

What can diners expect from the new fitout? A boujee blend between a Miami Beach shack and contemporary restaurant, filled with modern furnishings that reflect its proximity to the water. Bright colour pops paired with the white-washed wooden features cover the restaurant and bar, making it the perfectly instagrammable spot for sipping. And for those who have been dying to know, yes the iconic yellow-striped umbrellas that previously made the venue so recognisable are making a comeback!

With the new fit-out will also come a brand new menu. Venue manager Wesley Smith and head chef Bambi Chanpen have been working alongside Moran to elevate the food and beverage lineup to include breakfast, lunch, dinner and everything in between.

Opening the doors from 7 am, early morning commuters will be able to stroll along the riverfront and stop in for a classic eggs benny and coffee for breakfast. Both corporates looking for a quick lunch or parties looking to sit and sip the afternoon and evening away will be spoilt for choice with a range of snacks, pizzas and mains including spanner crab spaghetti, Riverbar cheeseburger and chargrilled cauliflower.

But it’s the new raw section on the menu that highlights the focus on fresh local produce and is sure to have people flocking to the venue each day of the week. Must-try items include the selection of local sashimi with ginger wasabi and soy as well as QLD tiger prawns with spicy cocktail sauce (it’s as good as it sounds, trust us).

From the classics to their tantalising new tipples, Riverbar’s wine and cocktail list is set to be a crowd-pleaser. Come 10 am, the bar will open to blissful brunchers and continue serving right through to midnight. Some of their best new sips include Rome Away From Rome, Wham Bam Jam, and Is This Mai Tai?. Served by the jug, concoctions such as Walk In The Tropics and Cherry Pie are the perfect choice to share with friends as you soak up the sun and bask in the summer breeze.

So fire up the group chat and raise a glass of something fancy because Riverbar + Kitchen is officially back in business as of today.
