Following a successful launch event on Tuesday 27 September, the secrets of Fortitude Valley’s newest bar and dining space are no longer under lock and key from the public eye. Guests received details of Tomcat’s address eight hours prior to the launch party, sights set on Level 1, 210 Wickham St.

“We’ve enjoyed the chilled vibes in Melbourne over the past three years and are keen to bring them Brisbane’s way,” said Tomcat co-owner Chris Denman. “Think house party meets dive bar with a touch of 80s swag thrown in.”

Tomcat acts as a catalyst to Friday night friendly drinks, leading guests into a casual space with live music performances and low-key beers. The welcoming menu takes form with share plates of 18” stone based pizzas, with flavours like pumpkin and sage, Mediterranean, and pepperoni available whole or by the slice.

Social drinks will flow from taps of craft beer, cider, and Tomcat’s continuously changing tap cocktails. Guest’s at the launch event enjoyed tap cocktails of Mount Gay peach and rum punch, and Aperol ginger spritz.

The night’s biggest unveiling involved the sultry Boiler Room bar, a hidden twin to Tomcat’s casual affair. As guests enter The Boiler Room’s exclusive space, premium spirits and gourmet tastes flirt shamelessly across the bar.

Daily charcuterie boards and cheese plates are among some of the connoisseur tastes paired with The Boiler Room’s smooth jazz tunes and refined drinks.

As the brainchild of Chris Denman & Stevie Waite, Tomcat draws inspiration from the couple’s previous businesses, Kerbside, Fourth Wall and Manhattan Line. Along with Chris and Stevie’s extensive combined experience, the venue will enter an exclusive partnership agreement with Remy Martin.

This exciting venture will allow regular visitors to access their personal bottle of Remy Martin and Louis XIII from a lockable custom-made copper closet kept in The Boiler Room, integrating a personal quality to every visit. In addition to this, The Boiler Room’s monthly changing cocktail list and lengthy cocktail bible will provide hundreds of options for the night’s drink order.

Though Tomcat’s focus primarily lies on its premium brews and top-notch service, you’ll find some old-school style set in its low-lit depths, graffiti walls and leather lounges. Tomcat offers an ideal reception to Valley explorers searching for a diverse drinking experience. With two sides of the same coin serving up quality fare, patrons are welcome in both Tomcat’s friendly and welcoming space, and The Boiler Room’s flirtatious retreat.
